To Bonnie and the Routson family. I am shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of Ron. He was a friend and High School classmate of mine I last saw about a year and a half ago. His warm smile and kind personality will surely be missed. Love and prayers, Tony Gebhart

Wanted to express my thanks for the fond memories of visiting with your family. Although this news hurt, and bought shock, it also carried a smile of those enjoyable times. Wishing your outstanding family best wishes outside this tough loss.

So, sorry for your loss. The Obit is spot on to say he always treated everyone he met like a friend. He always had a smile and will be greatly missed, especially in the Parish. Please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers.

If you were told you could only have one friend in the world and you were to pick someone, Ron Routson is the person you would want to pick. Ron was one of the NICEST, most GENUINE persons you could ever meet. He truly cared about all those he came in contact with and always treated everyone with respect, which was greatly returned to him by those he knew. Always a warm smile, a good handshake, great conversation, and lots of knowledge and wisdom. Personally, I met Ron when he called on Gettysburg Rental Center to advertise with The Merchandiser. He could take many "no thank you's" still with that warm smile and say that he understood. He was never pushy, but was a professional consistent. We did start advertising and were glad that we did. It brought about a great friendship and we looked forward to Ron popping his head in the office door (always with a knock even though our door was always open), whether to sell something or to say hello because he hadn't seen us in a while. Then I got to know Ron better as a fellow board member of GARMA. Ron was pivotal in helping Gettysburg purchase a new Christmas tree for our center square by encouraging us to create a GoFundMe account. He created the account and the donations poured in. Ron always called me "Miss Jennie". I always laughed about it because nowadays it's how parents tell their children to address adults; as a sign of respect. But then I realized that Ron was showing how much he respected me, and I truly respected him. There are so many more kind words I can say about Ron, but if you knew him then you already know that!
