Louise A. Kuhn

Louise A. “Weesie” Kuhn, 87 of New Oxford, entered into God’s eternal care on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Mark A. “Jim” Kuhn who died December 13, 2005.  Born December 21, 1931 in New Oxford, she was the daughter of Henry and Johanna (Smith) Lawrence.  Weesie worked at Middleburg Manufacturing in Hanover with over 15 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Edgegrove where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Healthcare Ministry. Weesie had a tremendous devotion to the Blessed Mother. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and friends.  Surviving are two sons, David A. Kuhn and wife Barbara of Abbottstown and Blane E. Kuhn and companion Deb Sheely of New Oxford; six grandchildren, Jennifer Ramirez, Derek Kuhn, Melissa Doerr, Scott Kuhn, Kristy Young and Kyle Kuhn and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six siblings, Earl, Robert, George and Edward Lawrence, Harold Smith and Florence Smith.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2019 at Sacred Heart Basilica, Edgegrove with Rev. Joseph R. Howard as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received Sunday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, with the rosary prayed at 6:00 p.m.  Serving as pallbearers will be Derek, Scott and Kyle Kuhn, Roy Ramirez, Andrew Doerr and Todd Lawrence.
