Diane M. Snyder

Diane M. Snyder, 62, of Hanover, entered into the hands of God on Friday, November 16, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of Stanley M. Snyder to whom she shared 37 years of marriage.  Born February 20, 1956 in Hanover, she was the daughter of William J. and Helen E. (Timmins) Groft of New Oxford.  Diane retired from Hanover Direct after 16 years of service and worked at Inn 94 in New Oxford as a waitress for 25 years. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered in the parish thrift shop. She was a 1974 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown. Diane was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and jigsaw puzzles. She was an amazing mother and loving wife who enjoyed life and spending time with her friends and family.  Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are two children, Adam Snyder and companion Hannah Doorn of Hanover and Kristin Broseker and husband Brian of Abbottstown; five siblings, Amanda Meckley of Hanover, Michele Trone and husband Mike, Gregory Groft, and Christopher Groft and wife Michelle all of New Oxford and Jerry Groft and partner Anthony. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Allen Meckley.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Hanover with Rev. Michael P. Reid II as celebrant. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown with prayers at 8 p.m.  Contributions in memory of Diane may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 220 Third St., Hanover, PA 17331 or Pink-Out Cancer Fund, Utz Mansion, Hanover Street, New Oxford, PA 17350.
