Anthony J. Shrader

Anthony J. Shrader, 61 of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at UPMC Pinnacle-Hanover. He was the husband of Mary P. (Sunday) Shrader to whom he was married 26 years.  Born October 25, 1957 in Hanover, he was the son of the late William J. Shrader and Mary Louise (Spangler) Shrader-Slagle.  Tony was employed by Sonoco Products in Hanover. He was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown and the McSherrystown Home Association. He was a 1975 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown and an avid Delone sports enthusiast.  Surviving in addition to his wife are two step daughters, Carly Bentley and husband Steven of Bordentown, NJ and Jessica McGee and husband Willie of Myrtle Beach, NC; two brothers, William Shrader and wife Kristin of Scottsdale, AZ and Christopher Shrader of Hanover. He was preceded in death by a brother Dwight E. Shrader.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with prayers at 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Tony may be made to the William J. “Sonny” Shrader Scholarship Fund, c/o Delone Catholic High School, 140 N. Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown, PA 17344.
