Rebecca A. Swope

Rebecca A. Swope, 77, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of John Urban Swope who died June 26, 1990. Born January 18, 1941 in Oxford Twp., she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt and Kathleen (Fleshman) Bunty. Becky was retired from Hanover Foods, Inc, Hanover as an accountant. She was a 1958 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown. She enjoyed playing BINGO, and was known for her delicious Ice Cream Pull Taffy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are two children, Edward A. Swope of East Berlin and Elaine C. Kuhn of New Oxford, three grandchildren, Bryan, Austin and Chasity and a great-grandson, Dominic, two siblings, Patricia Hale of McSherrystown and Rodney Bunty of Rising Sun, MD. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald A. Kuhn and five siblings, Richard, Amos, David and Fred Bunty and Corrine Ackerman. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Annunciation Catholic Church, McSherrystown with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, with prayers at 8 p.m. Memorial contributions in memory of Becky may be made to Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Ed and Elaine,
Thinking of you with heartfelt sympathy. I met Becky through Hanover Foods and she was a pleasure to know -- so kind and sweet.
I'm sorry I didn't get to speak to the two of you today at the service, but please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Beck was a good lady who I grew up going to see She will be sadly missed by all that knew her Elaine Ed Bryan Chad and Austin you all have my deepest sympathy Love all of you
