Richard F. Wierman

Richard F. Wierman, 74, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Susan C. (Groft) Wierman to whom he was married 49 years. Born July 13, 1944 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Francis R. and Josephine C. (Carbaugh) Wierman. Dick was the retired Owner/Vice President of Penn Mar Rehabilitative Services Inc. of Hanover and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover. He was a 1962 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown, a 1966 graduate of West Chester University and a 1967 graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Physical Therapy. Dick was a member of the McSherrystown Home Assoc., Hanover Country Club, Hanover Elks, Arcadian Club and American Physical Therapy Association. He enjoyed spending time in Rehoboth Beach and Marco Island, FL. and was an AVID Penn State Football Fan. Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter, Joanna L. Masters and husband David of Columbia, MD, one grandson, Owen Masters, three siblings, Rosemary Krepps and husband Francis of Hanover, William H. Wierman and wife Mary of Hanover and Sr. Ann Marie Wierman, SSJ of McSherrystown. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Bealing and Nina Rider. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Rd, Hanover, with Rev. Matthew C. Morelli as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church. Contributions in memory of Dick may be made to Delone Catholic High School, 140 S. Oxford Avenue, McSherrystown, PA 17344 or St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5055 Grandview Road, Hanover, PA 17331.
