Elsie E. Neiderer, 98, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. She was the wife of Theron J. “Reds” Neiderer, who died May 12, 2003. Born September 24, 1919 in Adams County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ethel (Martin) Small. Elsie was retired from Weis Market in Hanover after many years of service. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown. Elsie was the last surviving member of her Central Catholic High School, McSherrystown graduating class. She delivered Meals on Wheels from the McSherrystown Senior Center up to her 94th birthday and enjoyed traveling and the company of her many friends and family. Surviving are eight children, Marie Costella of Hanover, Thomas Neiderer of Glenville, Joyce Folcomer of McSherrystown, Vivian Huskey of Chicago, IL, Joan Orndorff and husband Barton of Gettysburg, Robert Neiderer and wife Marsha of Centre Hall, Tony Neiderer and wife Pat of Thomasville and Gregory Neiderer and wife Nancy of Ashburn, VA; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rita Neiderer of Hanover and Jean Southard of Owings Mills, MD. She was preceded in death by a son, Scott Neiderer and six siblings, Donald, Harold and John Small, Florence Smith, Dolores Laugerman and Ethel Stambaugh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Annunciation Church, McSherrystown with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be her children. Contributions in memory of Elsie may be made to Adams County Office of Aging, Attn: Meals on Wheels, 318 W. Middle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.

Vivian, my sincerest condolences to you and your family at the loss of your mother.
I'm sure she was a wonderful mother as she raised a wonderful daughter and friend. And I'm proud to call you my friend.
