Dora F. Sneeringer

Dora F. Sneeringer, 100, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Rodney F. Sneeringer who died August 6, 2001. Born August 7, 1917, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Louis and Ida (Zurgable) Goulden. Dora was a retired seamstress from Princess Dry Cleaning in Hanover. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover, the Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary in Bonneauville and the Hanover Home Association. Dora loved boating, the beach, the Baltimore Orioles, Baltimore Ravens and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are two children, Charmaine Neiderer and husband Steve of New Oxford and Carl Sneeringer of Hanover; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Sneeringer and seven siblings, Paul, Roger, Bernard and Lawrence Goulden, Regina Rybikowsky, Evelyn Staley and Helen Koontz. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover, with Rev. Michael P. Reid II as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with a prayer service held at 8 pm. Contributions in memory of Dora may be made to St. Vincent Church, 220 Third Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
