Martin V. Storm, 93, of New Oxford, entered into God’s eternal care on Monday, November 20, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Emma M. (Hartlaub) Storm for 73 years prior to her death on September 16, 2012. Born April 22, 1924 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Carroll and Agnes (Cool) Storm. Martin was retired from Hanover Concrete Co. with 47 years of service and owned and operated Storms Antiques and Collectables in New Oxford for 20 years. Martin proudly served in the US Army during WW II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, in Edgegrove, Irishtown Fire Company, McSherrystown Home Assoc., McSherrystown Fish and Game Assoc., Bonneauville CWV and Kettle Creek Tamarac Sportsman’s Assoc. He enjoyed collecting antiques, hunting and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren. Surviving are five children; Mark “Marty” Storm and wife Cathy of New Oxford, Marie Penley and husband Richard of Spring Grove, Kenneth Storm and wife Cindy of New Oxford, Richard Storm of York Springs, and Janet Arnett of New Oxford, thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild, four siblings; Donald Storm of Bonneauville, Mary Wilkinson of Gettysburg, Catherine Landis and Louise Myers both of New Oxford. He was preceded in death by five siblings; Carroll, Francis and Raymond Storm, Anna Hull, and Loretta Smith. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, November 27, 2017 at Sacred Heart Basilica in Edgegrove, with Rev. Joseph R. Howard as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edgegrove, with military honors provided by Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 4 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be John Sipling Jr., Joe Storm, Robert Foltz Jr, Troy Sipling, Max Storm, Sam Storm and Andy Storm. Contributions in memory of Martin may be made to Heartland Hospice, 3417 Concord Rd, Suite C, York, PA 17402.
