I had Mrs. McFarland at Delone... She was an amazing teacher, but most of all she was such a wonderful, loving presence. She always shared the best stories about her daughter and husband. I can't listen to the Nutcracker without thinking about her and how she would make copies of the tape for Angie to listen to. At the time she was in grade school and would play the tapes over and over again wearing them out. Mr. McFarland shot my senior photos, one of which is still the best photo of me in existence to this date! Camille meant so much to me. I send you all my love.

I had the joy of working with Camille at NO high school. She truly cared about her students and strived to open up the world to them.

Dave, my family and I extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family during this time of sorrow. Camille was such a kind and compassionate woman. Her passion for teaching and her genuine concern for her students were evident to anyone who stepped into her classroom. I will be forever grateful for the kind words of encouragement and support she offered me as I embarked on my own journey into a career in education. My favorite memory of Camille is the time she told me about getting the autograph of Margaret Brainard Hamilton. Camille was at a shoe store in New Jersey (I think), and she recognized Hamilton, best known for her role as the Wicked Witch of the West. With a smile that lit up her face and reached all the way into her eyes, Camille relayed that she had gotten Hamilton to sign the shoe box Camille was holding in her hand. She laughed at the sheer irony of Oz's Wicked Witch signing a shoe box. May your fond memories of her and the stories others tell of her wit and wisdom bring you comfort. Michelle

It is with utmost sadness that I write this. Camille was my friend throughout grade school and on into High School and College. Even though we lost touch in later years, she was the "voice in my head" that told me I could and would face life's many challenges. She was an inspiration to me and to others in her forthright honesty, zest for life, and perseverance. I will always and forever think of her with fondness and gratitude from having known her.
