Kenneth Johnson

Kenneth Johnson, 70, of Hanover, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Carolyn L. (Miller) Johnson to whom he was married 50 years.  Born November 6, 1946 in Three Links, KY, he was the son of the late Nelce and Ethel (Robertson) Johnson.  Ken retired from Cisco Construction after 20 years of service and previously worked at Emeco Industries, Hanover for over 25 years. Ken enjoyed life and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren.  Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Jake Johnson and wife Christine and Troy Johnson and wife Tiffany all of Hanover, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, three siblings; Opal Mays of KY, Odas Johnson of McSherrystown and Gwen Mitchell of FL. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Raymond, Merle, Jack and Oscar Johnson.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Johnson, Lane Johnson, Rich Myers, Tim Hagarman, Todd Brandon, Benny Johnson and Joe Miller.  Contributions in memory of Kenneth may be made to: American Cancer Society of York/Adams, 924 Colonial Avenue, Suite N, York, PA 17403.

Carol, Jake and Troy - so sorry to hear about Kenneth. He was an awesome guy. I'm going to miss hearing that laugh of his, it always made me smile along with him.
