Monica C. Czapp

Monica C. Czapp, 81, of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the wife of Norbert J. Czapp to whom she was married 53 years. Born November 3, 1935 in Adams Co, she was the daughter of the late Anthony S. and Ada C. (Halter) Weaver. Monica was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover where she was a CCD Instructor for over 20 years and also worked as a secretary to help her son as he started his business. She was a 1954 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown.  Monica enjoyed baking, and was known for her delicious sugar cookies, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons; Kurt Czapp and wife Jessica of DE, John Czapp and wife Jody of Hanover, Mark Czapp and wife Crystal of Spring Grove and Paul Czapp and wife Amanda of Hanover, nine grandchildren and one great-grandson, three siblings; Christine Forbes of Spring Grove, Francis Weaver of New Oxford and Alfred Weaver of Hanover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown with a prayer service at 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Memorial contributions in memory of Monica may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305.
