Donald E. “Shorty” Musselman, 82, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care on Friday, April 14, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. He was the life partner of Betty Cain for 27 years. Born October 1, 1934 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Frank and Goldie (Leese) Musselman. Don was retired from ESAB in Hanover after 20 years of service. He was a member of UAIW and the VFW. Don was a great collector of antiques especially clocks, an avid fisherman, enjoyed working on cars of which his greatest accomplishment was his total restoration of a 1926 Model T Ford. He had a great sense of humor, was fun loving and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially his granddaughter. Don proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Surviving also are three children; Dani Scuka and husband Sergio of Trieste, Italy, Robin Messinger and husband Ralph of Manhatan, MT, and Perry Musselman and fiancée Sandy Boyd of Hanover; one granddaughter, Brittany Shultz and husband Aaron of Mt. Wolf; and a great-granddaughter, Mallory Shultz. He was preceded in death by six siblings; Robert, John, Raymond and Edna Musselman, Dorothy Reigle and Nancy Caler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown with his son-in-law Ralph Messinger officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
