L. Bernadette Leese

L. Bernadette Leese, 86, of Hanover, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 20, 2017 at Utz Terrace in Hanover. She was the wife of Milton Dean Leese, who died October 5, 1996. Born July 29, 1930 in Fairfield, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Mary C. (Kane) Hemler. Bernadette was retired from Frederick W. Stine Public Accountant in Hanover, where she was a secretary. She also worked at the BonTon. She was a 1948 graduate of Delone Catholic High School and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Hanover. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends, and was a volunteer for Bingo at St. Vincent’s for 50 years, also Meals On Wheels and was a gray lady at Hanover Hospital. Surviving are four` children, Colleen Biasco and her husband James of Laytonsville, MD, Deborah Leese and spouse Amy Pearlstein of Suffolk, VA, Cynthia Leese of Marysville, and Donna Marcionette and her husband Dean of Spring Grove; daughter-in-law Patricia Leese of Manheim; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Reichart Jr., David Reichart, Kristin Leese, Adrienne Marcionette and Hailey Marcionette; one great-granddaughter, Margaret Reichart; two brothers, Charles Hemler Jr. and Richard Hemler; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son David A. Leese and two sisters, Ann Nance and Teresa Simbeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 220 Third St., Hanover, with Rev. Joseph F. Gotwalt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Thursday 9 to 10 am at St. Vincent Church.
