Earleen M. Smith, 80, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care after a bitter struggle with cancer on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at her home with family by her side. She was the wife of Philip A. Smith. Born November 5, 1936 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Helen Stewart. Earleen was retired from Victory Restaurant after 25 years of service and then she worked an additional 14 years at the Hanover Country Club. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover. Earleen was a avid bowler and enjoyed football, hockey (Capitals), Penn State sports and traveling, especially cruises. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and her endearing grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are nine children; Robert D. Reinhardt and wife Ramona of Denver, CO, Carol A. Davis and fiancé Leonard Visco of Seneca Falls, NY, Russell T. Reinhardt of Garfield, NJ, Kelly C. Haley and husband Christopher of Lorton, VA, Michael A. Reinhardt of Hanover, Evelyn M. Garrett and fiancé Paul Leonard of York, Cassie E. Reinhardt of Carlisle, Frankie R. Boyle Jr. and wife Carolyn of Hanover and Damon C. Boyle of Hanover, 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and a brother Patrick Thomas of Heidlersburg. She was preceded in death by six siblings; Charles, William, Ruthann, Robert and Richard Thomas and Mary Person. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover with Rev. Ryan M. Fischer as celebrant. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Dokes, James D. Smith, Len Visco, Chris Haley, Paul Leonard, Aaron Leese, Nathan Leese, Brandon Boyle, Cory Boyle and Robert Reinhardt. Contributions in memory of Earleen may be made to the American Cancer Society of York/Adams, 924 Colonial Ave, Suite N, York, PA 17403.
