Robert W. Hahn, Sr.

Robert W. Hahn Sr., 94, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family He was the husband of Mildred J. (Yingling) Hahn, his wife of 70 years.  Born January 26, 1923 in Hanover, he was the son of Robert L. and Buelah M. (Orendorff) Hahn.  Bob retired in 1985 after 25 years of service from Harsco (BMY) Corp. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hanover, attended St. Joseph Grade School, Hanover Jr. High and Eichelberger High School. He also was a life member of the VFW Post # 2506 in Hanover and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre in the Amphibious Fleet. Bob enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Surviving in addition to his wife are seven children; James F. Hahn and wife Sharon, Robert W. Hahn Jr., all of Hanover, Ronald L. Hahn and wife Louann of New oxford, Sally A. Milo and husband Michael of Hanover, Dennis J. Hahn and wife Cindy, and David A. Hahn and wife Brenda all of New Oxford and Jeffrey A. Hahn of Spring Grove, six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and a sister; Dorothy M. Garrett of Hanover. He was preceded in death by two siblings; Bernard F. Hahn and Elizabeth A. Kopp.  Per Bob’s request, there will be no viewing. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover at the discretion of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob may be made to VNA of Hanover, 440 N. Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331.
