Donald D. Krug, 91, of New Oxford, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. He was the husband of Doris L. (Bible) Krug to whom he was married 70 years. Born July 7, 1925 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Leah (Pittinger) Krug. Don was retired from Utz Potato Chip Co., Hanover with over 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hanover, the American Legion Post 14, VFW Post 2506 and AARP. Don served proudly in the Army during WWII receiving the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He enjoyed traveling and vacations along with spending time with his family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children; William D. Krug and his wife Sue of Hanover, Cindy Schriver of New Oxford and Jeff A. Krug and his wife Margaret of Pasco, WA, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, three siblings; Gloria Krug and Mary Kernekin both of New Oxford and Alliene Mummert of East Berlin. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Evelyn Krug and Ruth Fair. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with Pastor Faye Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Don may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W Chestnut St. Hanover, PA 17331.

Mrs. Krug and Cindy, So sorry to see that Mr. Krug has passed from this life to his eternal home. I always enjoyed going to your home when we were running around. I haven't seen your parents for a long time, but they were very friendly and knew me the last time I saw them. You all have my sympathy and prayers to get through this hard time. God Bless
