Luis A. Nieves, 64, of Spring Grove and formerly of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care, Sunday, December 18, 2016 at his home, with family by his side. He was the husband of Edna R. (Heath) Nieves to whom he was married 4 years. Born February 26, 1952 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco and Romona (Espinell) Nieves. Luis was a carpenter with Nieves and Sons. He was a member of Christian Outreach Church in Three Springs, the Littlestown Eagles and the Gettysburg VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his truck and spending time with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, Kimberly Nieves and her husband David Iacavone of McSherrystown, Tabitha Nieves and her companion Corey Rudy of York, Kelley Linebaugh and her husband Tim of New Oxford, Tory Nieves and Benjamin Nieves and his companion Sherry James all of Hanover; five step-children, Angela Holloway, Travis Hall, Patricia R.J. Thomas, Bobby Sue Dehart and Norman R.H. Thomas; nineteen grandchildren; twenty step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rome and Maria Nieves and two brothers, William and Sam Nieves. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosie Ortiz and Antonio Lance. A Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave, McSherrystown, with Pastor Denny Hunsinger officiating. Burial will follow at Annunciation cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received Wednesday 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Luis can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

My man Louey what a small world we live in have not seen you since we were teenagers. Now I know your daughter Tab and son in law Corey . What great people they are which makes me know you never changed in your character or personality . The great beyond has gained an angel.
