Barbara E. Weaver

Barbara E. Weaver, 87, of Irishtown, entered into God’s eternal care, Monday, October 24, 2016 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. She was the wife of Raymond M. “Twisty” Weaver who died November 9, 2012. Born June 3, 1929 in Irishtown, she was the daughter of the late George and Monica (Hemler) Martin. Barb was retired from Hanover Press Paving. She was a 1947 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, a member of Sacred Heart Basilica in Edgegrove, and a member of the Irishtown Fire Co. where she was very involved for many years. Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are two children, Cynthia Sneeringer and her husband Jim of Downingtown and Raymond Weaver of Irishtown; her daughter-in-law, Deb Weaver of Irishtown; 6 grandchildren; Andrea, Sara, Julie, James Jr., Robin and Justin; 10 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Pius Martin of Irishtown. She was preceded in death by her son, James Weaver. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with Rev. Lawrence J. McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edgegrove. Friends and relatives will be received Saturday, 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Barb may be made to Irishtown Fire Co., 934 Irishtown Road, New Oxford, PA 17350 or Homewood at Plum Creek, 425 Westminster Ave., Hanover, PA 17331.

We are so sad to hear of Barb passing. Even though you and your family are sad and will miss her, she is now with Twisty and Jim now. Hopefully knowing that gives you some peace.
