Joseph G. Tyler

Joseph G. Tyler, 73 of Hanover, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, June 10, 2016. He was the husband of Rose M. (Neiderer) Tyler who died October 26, 1980. Born August 2, 1942 in Mitchell County, NC, he was the son of the late William D. and Georgia M. (Miller) Tyler. Joe was a retired truck driver and carpenter. He was 1960 graduate of Susquehannock High School and a life member of McSherrystown Home Association. Joe was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are two children; Sheila M. Stables of Hanover and Brian J. Tyler of Fayetteville, NC, his companion, Gloria Winand and her children; John Winand and Sandy Zeigler, four grandchildren; Adam Tyler, Alicia Kelly, Amanda Blevins and Jaydee Blevins, seven great-grandchildren, six sisters; Patricia Brown of Spring Grove, Bonnie Barry of McSherrystown, Linda Kagarise of Glenville, Matilda Zartman of New Oxford, Barbara Curry of Spring Grove and Shirley Harris of Seven Valleys, two brothers; Richard Tyler of Hanover and James Tyler of Dover. He was preceded in death by his brother David Tyler and his twin brother William Tyler. A Celebration of Life service will be held 10 am Monday June 13, 2016 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with Elder John Winand and Paul Shield officiating. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received Sunday 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jaydee Blevins, Matthew Kelly, Isaac Winand, Jacob Winand, Josiah Winand and Zachary Winand.
