Charles H. Weaver

Charles H. Weaver, 85, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. He was the husband of Patricia M. (McMaster) Weaver to whom he was married 60 years. Born November 16, 1930 in Adams County, he was the son of the late Henry A. and Anna G. (Smith) Weaver and also the step-son of the late Estella M. (Roth) Weaver. Charlie was the former owner of Weaver’s Body Shop in Brushtown. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown, and was a life member of the McSherrystown Home Assoc., McSherrystown Knights of Columbus, Brushtown Athletic Assoc., Catholic War Veterans in Bonneauville, American Legion in Hanover, SAVES and McSherrystown Senior Center. Charlie proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed boating, crabbing, camping, fishing and hunting and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are five children; Michael Weaver and his wife Jill of New Oxford, Donna Groft and her husband Dan of Hanover, Wanda Gebhart and her husband Donald of New Oxford, Matthew Weaver and his wife Sharon of Hanover and June Keeseman and her husband Ron of Newburg; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; five siblings; Lester Weaver and Julia Criswall both of Hanover, Margaret Dennis of Dover, Loretta Laser of DE and Carroll Weaver of New Oxford. He was preceded in death by a daughter; Karen Weaver, two granddaughters; Janet and Jenny Weaver, a great-granddaughter; Mia Amour Noel, and three siblings; Raymond and Donald Weaver and Rita Storm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery, with military honors provided by the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard. Friends and relatives will be received Tuesday 6 to 8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 8 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to Annunciation Church Memorial Fund, 26 N. 3rd St., McSherrystown, PA 17344, VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331 or Brushtown Athletic Association, 5603 Hanover Road, Hanover, PA 17331.

I love you Dad. you gave me a wonderful life and taught me well. and gave me the tools for this life. I will miss you. BUT I know where you are now. walking and talking with Jesus. with no pain and listening to all the birds singing. I will see you again in Glory. until then you will forever be in my HEART.
