JoAnn F. (McSherry) Neiderer, 77, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care Monday, April 11, 2016 at the York Hospital. She was the wife of Albert L. “Skip” Neiderer to whom she was married 58 years. Born November 30, 1938 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Rodney C. and Anna Josephine (Timmins) McSherry. JoAnn was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown and a 1956 graduate of Delone Catholic High School, a member of the McSherrystown Knights of Columbus ladies auxiliary where she was past president, the McSherrystown Heritage Association and she was a Den leader for Cub Pack 107 for many years. She also enjoyed reading, going to the beach, their house in Florida and spending time with family and friends. Surviving in addition to her husband are four children; Michael P. Neiderer and his wife Virginia, Andrew J. Neiderer and his wife Karen all of York, Anthony A. Neiderer and his wife Rebecca of Canonsburg, PA and Steven P. Neiderer and his companion Lisa of Hanover, twelve grandchildren; Heather, Patrick, Isabela, Ashley, Chase, Johnna, Ella, Vaughn, Tori, Wade, Brody and Tate, three great grandchildren; Kyleigh, Kierra and Kaiden, a sister; Janet M. Groft and her husband Larry of Hanover. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle M. Neiderer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, McSherrystown. Friends and relatives will be received Thursday 6 to 8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 8 pm. Contributions in memory of JoAnn may be made to Annunciation Church 26 N. Third Street, McSherrystown, PA 17344.

Sympathies to the family. It was nice to read that Mrs. N. had all those grandchildren to fill her life! The loss of Michelle at 19 was such a huge wound to suffer, and I hope their reunion was so glorious that it made up for all that pain. She is now an angel too.
