Mary Jane Neiderer

Mary Jane Neiderer, 78, of McSherrystown, passed away, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. She was the wife of William A. Neiderer, who died February 2, 1996. Born July 9, 1937, in McSherrystown, she was the daughter of the late Wirick F. and Mary E. (Felix) Pentz. Mary Jane was retired from Conewago Township Elementary School where she was a Teacher’s Aide. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church in McSherrystown and McSherrystown Senior Center. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are four children: Judith A. Dayhoff and husband Michael of New Oxford, James A. Neiderer and wife Tina, and John A. Neiderer and wife April all of Hanover, and Joseph A. Neiderer and wife Kelly of East Berlin; eight grandchildren: Shane Corriere, Justin Neiderer, Jeremy Dayhoff, Meagan Neiderer, Kyle Dayhoff, Allison Resh, Brock Neiderer and Bradley Neiderer; and one sister, Cynthia Bream of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a sister, Thyra Kuhn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Annunciation Church in McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives will be received Monday 6 to 8 pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 8 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be her eight grandchildren. Contributions in memory of Mary Jane may be made to: Delone Catholic High School Athletic Assoc. 140 S. Oxford Ave., McSherrystown, PA 17344.

Judy, Jim, John, Joe and families and Sinnie and family: So sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. Always cherish the wonderful memories filled with laughter. They will remain in your heart forever. She's at peace now and happier than ever as she's with Bill and other family members. God Bless.
