Stella M. Hippensteel

Stella M. Hippensteel, 72, of Littlestown, entered into God’s eternal care Thursday, December 31, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of Ted D. Hippensteel who died November 3, 1996, and the fiancé of Fred A. Miller of Littlestown. Born September 15, 1943, in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Margaret H. (Myers) Smith. Stella was retired from Wampler Foods in New Oxford and previously worked at Freeman Shoe Co. in Hanover. She was a 1962 graduate of Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown. Stella was an associate member of Christ United Church of Christ in Littlestown, a member of Kingsdale Gasoline Engine Assoc., Eastern Shore Thrashers Assoc., in Federalsburg, MD., Arcadia Antique Engine Assoc. in Arcadia, MD., a life member of SAVES and the Mason-Dixon Historical Society in Westminster, MD. and a volunteer at the Farm Museum in Westminster, MD. She enjoyed being Mrs. Santa Claus and especially spending time with family and friends. Surviving in addition to her fiancé, are three sons; Joseph Hippensteel and Thomas Hippensteel both of Hanover and Kenneth Hippensteel of Bonneauville; 3 grandchildren, Justin, Elizabeth, and Nichole Hippensteel; 3 great-grandchildren; four siblings; Janet Hahn and husband Joseph, Elizabeth Adams and husband Gary all of Hanover, Mae Myers and husband Robert of Gettysburg, and Francis Smith and wife Janette of New Oxford. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Hippensteel and a sister, Helen Smith. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10 am Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with Rev. Craig E. Arentz officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hanover. Friends and relatives will be received Monday 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Stella may be made to: VNA/Hospice, 440 N. Madison St., Hanover, PA 17331.

Fred I am so sorry to hear about Stella. We thought the world of her and she will be missed. Larry will be coming to the viewing but unfortunately I am scheduled for a medical procedure on Tuesday and will be tied up on Monday with the preparation. Stella,we all know now that you went home to be with the good Lord and that you will live forever in Jesus' hands, and will bring peace to all of the family and friends that know you as Mrs. Claus. You will be deeply missed, but not forgotten because you touched so many hearts in this life that you will live for and ever in our hearts. Amen.
