Janine B. Oaster

Janine B. “Neen” Oaster, 71, of Spring Grove, entered into God’s eternal care Sunday, October 25, 2015, at the Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of Thomas A. Oaster, to whom she had been married 43 years. Born July 18, 1944, in Hanover, she was the daughter of Donald B. and Ruth E. (Diller) Baker. Janine was retired from BAE Systems. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Stoverstown, a 1962 graduate of New Oxford High School and a graduate of York College. She was a volunteer for several church activities and various organizations including the Margaret Moul Home and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter; Kimberly A. Oaster of Hanover, and a son; Kris A. Oaster of Mt. Wolf; six grandchildren, Brock Oaster, Chase Oaster, Kayla Beachem, Brandon Beachem, Allison Timpe and Megan Aiken; seven siblings, James A. Baker and wife Margaret of Hanover, Janice B. Kindig and husband Martin of Dover, Jeffrey A. Baker and wife Patricia of Hanover, Jessica B. Sipe and husband Jan of Hanover, Joy B. Dalton and husband Keith of Lynchburg, VA, Jack A. Baker and wife Cindy of Gaffney, NC and Jon A. Baker of Hanover; and numerous nieces and nephews.. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joel and Jay Baker. A memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday, October 31, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Stoverstown), 4767 Lehman Rd, Spring Grove. A visitation will be held 9 to 10 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be held privately. Murphy Funeral Home, McSherrystown is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Janine may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4767 Lehman Road, Spring Grove, PA 17362 or to the charity of one’s choice.
