Pauline A. Masemer

Pauline A. “Pean” Masemer, 100, 7 months, 1 day, of McSherrystown, entered into God’s eternal care Friday, October 16, 2015, at the Hanover Hospital. She was the wife of Mannard “Rip” Masemer, who died June 5, 1985, to whom she had been married for 48 years. Pean was a life-long resident of McSherrystown, before moving to the Brethren Home, in Cross Keys. Pean was born on March 15, 1915, and was the daughter of George F. and Mary A. (Eck) Felix. Prior to moving to Cross Keys, she had been a resident of the Interfaith Village Apartments, McSherrystown, where she lived for over 20 years after the death of her beloved husband. She was a member of Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in McSherrystown, the Daughters of Isabella and a member of the Golden Visions Adult Day Care and Senior Center in Hanover. She was a homemaker most of her life, although she did work at the Middleburg Manufacturing Company, and various other part-time jobs, including Delone Catholic High School, and Paul Knox’s, Reds Neiderer’s, and Bill Harman’s restaurants. She is survived by two sons, William (Bill) Masemer, and wife Sylvia, of McSherrystown, and Donald (Don) Masemer, and wife Judy, of Gettysburg. She has six grandchildren, including Deanne (Dee) Fisher, and husband Michael Fisher of Pillow, PA, Mark Masemer and wife Miranda of Gettysburg, Danica (Dani) Bange of York New Salem, Kami Noel and husband Jeremy Noel, of East Berlin, Dawn Dellinger and husband Gary Dellinger of New Chester, and Kristi Grace of Gettysburg. She has thirteen great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving of six brothers and their wives, including Claude Felix (Arlene); Curtis Felix (Hilda); P. Nolan Felix (Betty); Raymond Felix (Joan); Francis Felix (Ethel); and Norbert Felix (Nadin); as well as one sister, Mary (Felix) Pentz, (Wirick Pentz). The viewing will be held 2 to 4 pm Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., McSherrystown, with a prayer service held at 4 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held 10 am Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Annunciation BVM Church in McSherrystown, with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. At the family’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ABVM Parish, the VNA of Hanover, Golden Visions of Hanover, or the Brethren Home of Cross Keys. The family wishes to give special thanks to the nurses and support staff on the 3rd floor at Cross Keys.

Bill, Don, & families, so sorry to here about your mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Sorry I missed the viewing as I did not know about Pean until Sandy told me the other day.
