Gwendolyn M. “Toots” Strausbaugh, 78, of Hanover, entered into God’s eternal care Monday, October 12, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was the wife of Dale C. Strausbaugh to whom she was married 59 years. Born April 25, 1937 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late John and Violet (Weaver) Sanders. Toots was retired from Hanover Lantern and was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown. She enjoyed the outdoors, the annual weekends at the beach with the girls and just spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. Surviving in addition to her husband are eight children; Deborah Noel and her husband Steven of Jamison, Diane Rohrbaugh and her companion John Little of Hanover, Donna Groft and her husband Rick of McSherrystown, Rick Strausbaugh and his wife Patti of Mt Joy, Carolyn Gilson and her husband Rich of Corona, CA, Gail Feltch and her husband Dwayne of Hanover, Joy Groft and her companion Chris Topper of Hanover, Neil Strausbaugh and his companion Jasmine Hornberger of Montgomery, 24 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, one sister; Joan O’Donnell of Hanover and one brother; Tom Sanders of Hendersonville, TN. She was preceded in death by 5 siblings; Gloria Trish, Rose Yingling, Theresa Hartlaub, Ken Sanders and Mary Sanders. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown with Rev. Charles L. Persing as celebrant. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown with prayers at 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be; Rick Groft, Ryan Rohrbaugh, Andy Noel, Eric Strausbaugh, Jacob Feltch, Joe Gilson, Owen Groft and Rhyle Strausbaugh. Contributions in memory of Toots may be made to; American Cancer Society, 924 Colonial Ave, Suite N, York PA 17403 or Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Dr, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

She was such a sweet and caring person and always so full of joy. I wish I could have spent more time with you and the rest of the family up in Pennsylvania.
